Choose the Spectrum-6 infrastructure before choosing the optics
SN6600, SN6810-LD and SN6800-LD selection; SN6600-LD referenced only to explain the distinction.

Spectrum-6 system names describe materially different deployment requirements. The public hardware manual separates air-cooled, AC-powered SN6600 from liquid-cooled, DC-busbar SN6600-LD. SN6810-LD and SN6800-LD introduce co-packaged optics. A design or customer story about one of these systems should not be relabeled as evidence for another.
For an AC installation, review the SN6600 system’s airflow, rack dimensions, power requirements and approved replacement components. For a liquid-cooled CPO installation, review the rack busbar, coolant interfaces and optical maintenance requirements as part of the infrastructure design. The current manual lists an external laser source separately for SN6810-LD and SN6800-LD; that does not establish a universal ELS replacement across all NVIDIA photonics systems.
There is also an unresolved documentation detail relevant to cable procurement: the reviewed Spectrum-6 hardware manual uses MMC-16, while the Ethernet-switching marketing table uses MMC-12. Preserve both source references and ask NVIDIA to clarify the connector for the exact shipping configuration. Do not silently normalize the wording or choose a fiber assembly on that basis.
These distinctions are selection guidance, not an assertion of installed customer results, product availability or an approved physical design.
