Cisco CWDM-SFP 1470–1610: Specify the Wavelength and Channel Plan
Map Cisco CWDM-SFP-1470, 1490, 1510, 1530, 1550, 1570 and 1610 to the correct mux channel, host and optical budget before a supplier quote.
Order a channel, not a family prefix
CWDM-SFP- is useful for a family search but is not a complete purchase line. Use the exact wavelength-bearing identifier from the existing label or channel schedule. A wavelength does not specify quantity, condition, price or availability.

What the channel list does and does not say
Cisco documents this CWDM SFP family for Gigabit Ethernet and supported 1/2 Gb/s Fibre Channel operation. Do not transfer 10G CWDM SFP+ specifications to these parts. The data sheet lists dual LC/PC connections and PC/UPC patch-cord use, not APC. Confirm the required protocol and the exact host before choosing a channel.
Can I replace 1530 nm with 1550 nm?
Keep the mux/demux port assignment and peer receiver design in the same link record. An adjacent wavelength is not a drop-in replacement for an occupied channel. Check the mux passband, both endpoint identifiers, any add/drop stages and the planned fiber direction. Do not infer the receive design from a transmitter wavelength printed in a keyword list.
Build a complete optical budget
Record transmitter limits and receiver sensitivity/overload from the applicable model data sheet, then include fiber, splice, patch and mux losses. Check both excessive loss and excessive received power. Document engineering margin and test the installed link; a nominal distance is not an acceptance measurement.
Request a channel-specific quote
Send one BOM row per exact part number with quantity and requested condition. Attach the mux/demux model and channel map, endpoint devices and software, path loss, fiber length, delivery destination and date. Ask the supplier to return exact labels, wavelength evidence and test conditions. Current availability and commercial terms remain subject to confirmation.
