What does the two-way split provide?

One eight-lane OSFP head fans out to two four-lane OSFP tails, each at 400G using 100G-PAM4.

Can the OSFP tails go into BlueField-3 QSFP112 cages?

No. NVIDIA explicitly distinguishes OSFP ConnectX-7 branches from QSFP112 BlueField-3 or ConnectX-7 ports, which require the appropriate QSFP112-ended cable.

Does passive mean zero electrical consumption?

The signal path has no active electronics, but each end has management identification circuitry. NVIDIA specifies 0.1 W per OSFP end.

What does the flat-head version change?

The -FLT head is for a flat-top cooling arrangement, including documented liquid-cooled use. Confirm the endpoint rather than replacing it with the illustrated finned head.

Where does forward error correction take place?

The FAQ places FEC in the switch and network adapter. Match the supported endpoint configuration; a cable does not independently fix a FEC mismatch.

Why can a cable have two minimum bend radii?

The connector exit generally needs a larger bend radius than the cable body. Follow the exact assembly drawing and leave adequate space behind the rack door.
