Product questions & answers

Is this single-port or twin-port?

The exact ordering table and product body identify one 800G DR4 port with one MPO-12/APC connector. The twin-port wording in the page title is inconsistent and is not used.

Which protocols and application are named?

The live body supports XDR InfiniBand and 800GbE and names ConnectX-9 server use. The exact release row remains Prototype.

What is the current published power limit?

Both live October 6 product content and specifications say 16 W maximum. Earlier cached 15 W text is not used.

Can a definitive case-temperature range be published?

Not yet. The feature list says 20–70°C while the specification table says 20–64°C. Obtain NVIDIA clarification for the exact hardware revision.

Is it safe to look into a connected optical port?

No. Never look directly into an energized optical port or connected fiber; its infrared light can be invisible.

Can DR4 and FR4 be directly linked?

No. DR4 uses parallel optical channels; FR4 multiplexes wavelengths onto a fiber pair. Match the optical format at both ends.

What distinguishes XDR signaling from NDR?

XDR uses 200G-PAM4 signaling; NDR uses 100G-PAM4. Equal aggregate bandwidth alone does not establish interoperability.

Does an XDR optic automatically downshift to NDR?

No. NVIDIA places generation compatibility at the switch or adapter; an XDR optic does not independently downshift to 100G-PAM4.

Describe what you need. You can start without a confirmed quantity or host model.
