Port mode and breakout requirements

Arista lists QDD-400G-XDR4 for 400G-XDR4 or four 100GBASE-FR optical links. For breakout, verify the host port mode, software support, FEC settings, lane mapping, remote optics and fiber assembly together. A QSFP-DD cage alone does not establish that a particular switch supports the intended configuration.

Description

Choosing a 400G parallel-fiber link

The used Arista QDD-400G-XDR4 listing is a candidate for 400G links up to 2 km over parallel single-mode fiber. It uses a QSFP-DD host interface and an MPO-12 APC optical connector. Check the installed fiber and both endpoint platforms before selecting a module.

Check the connector, not just the distance

A duplex LC fiber pair is not the specified connection for this module. Include connector type, fiber polarity, link loss and patch-panel layout in your request. The base QDD-400G-XDR4 is not the XDR4-S connector variant or the XDR4-C channelized variant.

See the Arista transceiver datasheet, 400G QSFP-DD ordering table for the exact part number. These are manufacturer design specifications, not test results for the offered used unit.

Compare optical transceiver options or request a quote. Include quantity, destination country and city, target arrival date, and host model. Availability, dispatch origin, freight, customs responsibility and seller support must be confirmed in the written quote.

Features

Before accepting a used unit

Request the exact part number and hardware revision, serial-level traceability, connector inspection and available link-test records. Ask which host, software, speed and test conditions were used. Confirm the warranty provider, duration, return conditions and return-shipping responsibility for the quoted unit. A catalogue stock label is not evidence that these checks have been completed.
