Cluster Operations Materials: Management, Gateways, Power, and Spares
Include the supporting hardware that makes the primary equipment deployable.
Management and gateways
Confirm UFM hardware, software, and license entitlements separately. A Skyway gateway serves a different role from a fabric switch; verify both network sides and routing requirements. Plan management switch ports, power, and addressing as an independent operational path.
Bind accessories to their host
Rails, fans, power supplies, brackets, auxiliary power cables, and dust covers need an explicit parent-device association. Similar appearance or equal power ratings do not establish interchangeability. Check airflow, chassis depth, input power, mounting geometry, and ordering revision.
Set spare quantities
Choose spare quantities from service response targets, installed population, redundancy, and replacement strategy. A pack quantity is not necessarily a unit quantity. Associate the maintenance instructions and label photographs with the spare-parts catalog.
Separate silicon from adapters
Networking ICs are board-design components rather than ready-to-install server adapters. Confirm the supply form, complete board identity, and design-support conditions before procurement. Associate each service part with an identified parent system.
