Description
NVIDIA MMA4Z00-NS is a finned twin-port OSFP multimode transceiver providing two 400G SR4 optical ports through separate MPO12/APC connectors. Its 850 nm optical interfaces support up to 30 m on OM3 or 50 m on OM4 under the product specification, subject to the target platform and release qualification.

Product questions & answers

Is it safe to look into a connected optical port?

No. Never look directly into an energized optical port or connected fiber; its infrared light can be invisible.

Is MMA4Z00-NS one 800G optical port?

No. It is one OSFP module with two separate 400G optical ports, each using an MPO12/APC connector.

What fiber and reach are specified?

It uses 850 nm multimode 2xSR4 optics. Product specifications give 30 m on OM3 and 50 m on OM4; confirm the actual system and firmware for the planned reach.

Can one optical port use a straight cable and the other a splitter?

NVIDIA’s overview says no. Both connections must use the same straight-versus-splitter arrangement; compatible endpoint optics are separately required.

Can this finned module be treated as a DGX flat-top module?

No. MMA4Z00-NS is the finned switch-side version. -NS-FLT and -NS400 are different products. New and Used website offerings also remain separate commercial records.

How should detachable optical connectors be cleaned?

Use a connector-appropriate fiber cleaning tool on both mating surfaces before connecting them. Keep protective caps when disconnected.
