Is it safe to look into a connected optical port?

No. Never look directly into an energized optical port or connected fiber; its infrared light can be invisible.

What distinguishes MFP7E30-N030 from the MMF splitter?

It is a 30 m straight single-mode 9/125 µm assembly, with female MPO12/APC connectors and Type-B crossover. It has no fan-out.

Does the family maximum change this cable’s length?

No. The selected N030 assembly is 30 m. A longer family maximum does not change the physical length of this SKU.
